TN Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit Course


Service Description

This class will cover the TN state requirements for a carry permit for handguns including related laws, use of deadly force, liability, basic safety and maintenance, and how to apply and receive your permit and the processes involved. Thank you for choosing to train with S.A.F.E.! Below are details about what to expect and what to bring with you to class. Please read carefully! All participants must apply for a handgun permit at https://dl.safety.tn.gov/_/#1 and obtain a confirmation number from the State prior to class. Click on the tab that reads “Handgun Permits”. Where: Classroom at: 1028 Nashville Highway Columbia, TN 38401 When: Class will start promptly and on time at 8:00 AM CST. Be on time or slightly early so you can find the classroom to complete necessary paperwork and administrative items. Please be courteous to your classmates by not being late. What to Bring: (If you do not have a gun, DO NOT BUY ONE FOR THE CLASS!) • Bring your state issued driver license or identification to class. Your instructor will need to see it and will need the number to put on the class roster and on your class completion certificate. • Please bring eye and ear protection. If you do not have any, SAFE can provide this to you. • If you have a reliable handgun (revolver or semi-auto) bring it and at least 50 rounds of ammo. IF you need a gun (or any equipment) there will be a $10 equipment cost plus the cost of ammunition ($35) that is due for each participant at the time of class. Range fees of $10 are due from EACH participant. DO NOT BRING YOUR FIREARM INTO THE CLASSROOM! ABSOLUTELY NO AMMUNITION OR FIREARMS IN THE CLASSROOM! Cell phones must be silenced. It is disruptive to your learning and the rest in class. If you are looking down, you are distracted. During this class, you will be holding, loading and shooting a firearm. Your undivided attention is paramount to success. No visitors or companions are allowed. No video or audio recording of any kind. For the live-range work, we will be on an outdoor range. We will use one of two range choices- depending on the availability. This is approximately a 6-hour class, with lots of information to cover. Please dress appropriately for the weather. No low-cut blouses and no high-heeled or open toe shoes. If it is wet outside the range may be muddy. Bring proper footwear. We look forward to meeting you!

If you have paid and cannot attend, please contact us and we will work to ensure you are 100% satisfied. Tuition for classes allows a one-time reschedule to another date with prior approval.
