Basic Bleeding Control & Trauma Response Course Duration:** 1–2 hours Audience:** General public, first responders, workplace safety teams 1. Scene Safety & Initial Assessment** - Ensure personal and scene safety - Identify life-threatening bleeding 2. Direct Pressure & Bandaging** - Apply firm, consistent pressure to control bleeding - Secure wounds using bandages or dressings 3. Wound Packing** - When and how to pack deep wounds with gauze - Use of hemostatic agents for severe bleeding 4. Tourniquet Application** - When to use a tourniquet - Proper placement on self & others 5. Chest Seals & Open Chest Wounds** - Recognize a sucking chest wound - Apply a chest seal to prevent complications 6. Emergency Evacuation & Handoff** - Communicate injuries clearly to EMS 7. Hands-On Practice & Scenarios** - Practical application of all techniques
